Thirty Voices: Multidimensional Stories, Art Book Circle 2024, opening April 4, from 6-9pm
Friday, April 4, 2025 1:00 PM - Sunday, April 27, 2025 4:00 PM (EDT)
Description
Thirty artists took part in a unique community-building art project called Art Book Circles in Yellow Springs in 2024. Three groups of ten artists each created “art books,” making a new work of 2-D art each month for ten months, then passing their books to another group member. By the year’s end, each person’s “art book” contained one work by each member of their group. The books will be on display along with new pieces by the artists.

Thirty artists took part in a unique community-building art project called Art Book Circles in Yellow Springs in 2024. Three groups of ten artists each created “art books,” making a new work of 2-D art each month for ten months, then passing their books to another group member. “Being part of the Art Book Circle, meant keeping my creative soul alive,” says Nancy Mellon, whose art will be shown in April.
All varieties of work made their way into the books: collage, poetry, print making, fiber, photography, drawing and painting. The participants included beginners as well as those with a professional or lifelong art practice.
The project began in 2023 and expanded in 2024, organized by local artists Marie Hertzler, Dennie Eagleson and Forest Bright.
